Whilst the original book was written by Jane Austen, this new dramatisation was written by HTG's very own Jim Cheesley!
In 2011, the local Jane Austen Society approached HTG to see if they would be interested in performing Pride and Prejudice for it's 200 year anniversary in 2013. Whilst there have been film and TV adaptations, there is not really a definitive stage play. Given the significant number of settings and with the BBC miniseries running for six hours, Jim meticulously presented a performable version within the constraints of an amateur theatre performance. It was very well received by audiences and fans alike!
