The touching story of 2 people who begin corresponding with each other as 8 year olds and continue their relationship through sending and receiving letters spanning 50 years.

"Have you ever known someone who touched every part of your life? Have you loved someone across time and distance? Share in the story of Melissa and Andrew as they grow together through the power of the pen.”

Love Letters is a play by A. R. Gurney that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play centres on two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. Side by side the characters read letters and take the audience on a journey which spans almost 50 years. Though separated through most of this time, in these letters they share their hopes, dreams, disappointments and successes. Theirs is a unique and complicated relationship that is hard to define, but one that defines their lives.

HTG previously performed Love Letters in 2020. You can read about that production in our new archives section.
