Who We Are
Theatre Is a Team Sport
Highlands Theatre Group has been bringing stories to life in the Southern Highlands since 1987. We are entirely volunteer-run — which means everything you see on stage, and most of what happens off it, is made possible by people just like you.

Whether you're a seasoned performer, a first-time volunteer, or someone who's always secretly wanted to give it a go — there is a role here for you. We stage 3–4 productions a year and welcome new faces at every one of them.

Find Your Place
Every HTG production needs a whole village — on stage and off. Here are just a few of the ways you can be part of it. Most roles need no prior experience, just enthusiasm.
Performer
Step into the spotlight. Every production is a creative, collaborative space — directors work with you to bring your character to life, whatever your experience level.
- Suitable for all experience levels
- Acting, singing and musician roles (show dependent)
- Fun, supportive and encouraging environment
- Guided by experienced directors
Production Support
The show doesn't happen without this team. Most production support roles need no experience at all — just enthusiasm. Our people will show you everything.
- Backstage and stage management
- Front-of-house (tickets, programmes, seating)
- Lighting, sound, hair and makeup
- Props sourcing and management
Pre-Production & Design
Not all the magic happens on show week. Pre-production roles are often flexible around your schedule and span a huge range of creative and practical skills.
- Choreography, direction and design
- Costume sewing and sourcing
- Set construction and painting
- Programme and marketing artwork
Administrative & Marketing
HTG runs year-round, and so do the people who keep it ticking. If you'd prefer to contribute off-stage year-round, there are meaningful ways to help.
