Welcome to 2020!
We wish all our valued subscribers a very Happy New Year! We appreciate the start to 2020 has been a little less happy for some and our thoughts are certainly with any of our greater family who may have been impacted by the fires.
We have some exciting plans ahead for this year, so let’s dive straight in!
This year marked the start of membership renewals occurring online via PayPal. If you were previously a member you should have received a renewal notice to your nominated email address and 2020 membership fees are now due.
If you are not a member, now is a great time to join! Membership is open to performers, crew and patrons. In addition to joining our productions, membership also affords exclusive access to ticket pre-sales and member-only events.
If you have not received your renewal notice or would like to become a member please reach out to us by clicking here.
We unfortunately do not have much to report on the Mittagong Playhouse at the moment. Wingecarribee Shire Council advised in December 2019 that external buttresses would be installed to ensure the integrity of the roof. Once the integrity could be assured, they would then move forward with dismantling and repairing the roof.
We continue to engage with council and will certainly pass along any further updates when received. The temporary loss of the Playhouse has not set us back and we plan to forge ahead through 2020 with a full programme that may even be bigger than normal!

Southern Highlands Fires
As locals, we have shared the tragedy of the 2019/2020 bushfires. As a group, we have members who represent all towns across the greater Southern Highlands. Equally our core audience is the people of the Southern Highlands and we grieve with those who have lost during this fire season.
With that in mind, it was an easy decision for the Committee to commit to a donation to the Southern Highlands Rural Fire Service. We have requested the amount donated be used in a manner that will assist all brigades across the Southern Highlands rather than an individual brigade.
The Highlands Theatre Group joins the growing voices thanking the many volunteers that tirelessly and selflessly serve our community.
